Nagasaki Beautiful Scenery Ink Unzen Frosty Blue

Mount Unzen, one of Japan’s most active volcanoes, is located in the center of the Shimabara Peninsula. Its rich nature is so rich that it was designated as the first national park in Japan, and Unzen Onsen, where the entire town is enveloped in steam, is a historic hot spring town that was once a popular summer resort for foreigners during the Meiji period.

Unzen shows different faces as the seasons change.

Among them, the “frost rime” that occurs only near the summit on cold winter days is a spectacular winter scene that represents Unzen.
Each branch of the trees that have lost their leaves in preparation for winter is covered in ice crystals, and the sight of them sparkling in the sunlight is a beauty that is difficult to describe.
